Kini human hiniusang nagtigom ang komite sa trade and commerce ni Konsehal Goking uban sa economic enterprises ni Konsehal Edgar Cabanlas, consumer protection ni Konsehal Jonjon Rodriguez, ug public order ni Konsehal Roger Abaday diin gituki ang panawagan ni Konsehal Goking nga mamonitor ang naggamit ug nagbaligya sa mga sub-standard electronic Christmas decorations ug sa mga illegal nga pabuto dinhi sa syudad.
Matod ni Department of Trade and Industry-Misamis Oriental Director Jesusa Abear nga tinuig ang gahimoong pag-inspeksyon sa task group diin gihatagan og gahom sa pag-regulate sa pagbaligya ug paggamit sa mga pabuto subay sa Republic Act 7183, ang balaod nga nag-regulate sa pagbaligya, paghimo, pag-apod-apod, ug paggamit sa mga pabuto ingon man sa kasamtangan nga mga regulasyon sa Department of Interior and Local Governments (DILG).

Vice Mayor Bebot Rodriguez and Councilor Gilda O. Go, chairperson of the City Council committee on senior citizens, joined senior citizens, government officials, and partner agencies in the launch of the 2025 National Celebration of Elderly Filipino Week with the theme “Embracing Age: Living a Life with Dignity and Purpose.”
The activity, held on October 1, 2025, at SM City Downtown, brought together elderly representatives from five provinces in Northern Mindanao, along with key officials, including National Commission of Senior Citizens (NCSC) Region X Regional Director Mary Jean H. Asum and PhilHealth Region X Regional Vice President Delio Aseron II.
In their messages, both Vice Mayor Rodriguez and Councilor Go emphasized their shared advocacy to advance the welfare of senior citizens in Cagayan de Oro City.
“Our senior citizens are the foundation of our communities. We remain united in ensuring they live with dignity, purpose, and active participation in society,” they underscored.
The presence of Vice Mayor Rodriguez and Councilor Go signified the city government’s strengthened commitment to policies and programs that honor the contributions of the elderly while empowering them to continue playing meaningful roles in community life.
