CCTV sa kabarangayan kinahanglan tun-an pag-ayo -Cabanlas

“Dili basta-basta maka-demand sa tanang barangay nga magbutang gayud og kaugalingong Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) kay dili man tanan maka gahom pagpalit niini.”

Kini ang reaksyon ni Konsehal Edgar Cabanlas, majority floor leader sa konseho sa taho ni Konsehal Roger Abaday atol sa sesyon niadtong Lunes nga gidumala ni Bise Mayor Bebot Rodriguez, nga ang tanang barangay sa syudad mag-instalar og CCTV camera aron daling maila ug masolosyonan ang mga krimen sa dakbayan.

Maayo man ang sugyot ni Konsehal Abaday apan gikinahanglan niini ang koordinasyon sa syudad aron maoy magbutang og control center kay diha mausa ra ang tanang makita sa CCTV ug paspas ang pagkuha sa tanang impormasyon.

All 81 city CCTVs reported non-functional since 2017 — Councilor Jonjon Rodriguez

Councilor Jonjon Rodriguez revealed that all 81 closed-circuit television (CCTV) units installed throughout the city have been non-functional since 2017.

His disclosure followed Councilor Roger Abaday’s special report urging the mandatory installation of CCTV systems in all barangays to strengthen crime prevention and improve the efficiency of police investigations.

Rodriguez said that the issue of the city’s non-operational CCTVs was raised two weeks ago during a meeting of the committee on public utilities, chaired by Councilor Eric Salcedo.

Discussions were held with the contractor to identify solutions to restore the system. He noted that each CCTV unit has its own technical problems that need to be examined individually, and a technical working group has since been formed to address the matter.

The committee is expected to reconvene next week to present a full report and recommendations, including the estimated cost the local government will need to allocate per unit for repair and reactivation. Rodriguez also invited Councilor Abaday to participate in the upcoming meeting to further discuss the issue.

He likewise expressed hope that all 81 CCTVs across the barangays can be restored, along with the city’s traffic lights, and also called for an increased budget for CCTV maintenance by 2027. (JDO/SP)

Konsehal Tabac nangusog nga mapadali ang pag-implementar sa ordinansa sa Puerto

GIHINGUSGAN ni Konsehal Marlo Tabac, chairman sa komite sa barangay affairs sa konseho, nga mapadali sa Brgy. Puerto ang pag-implementar sa ilang ordinansa  nga nag-regulate sa pagkolekta sa mga basura ug nagpahamtang og multa sa makalapas niini.

Sa tigom sa komite niadtong Martes, ang buhatan sa City Legal mipadayag sa ilang suporta sa maong ordinansa tungod kay segun sa Section 16 sa Akta Republika 7160, gi- require man ang mga lokal nga kagamhanan nga mopalabang og ordinansa nga magpromote sa panglawas ug kaayohan sa komunidad.

Gibutyag usab sa taga-City Local Environment and Natural Resources Office (CLENRO) nga nalipay sila sa maong lakang nga magkolekta ang barangay og garbage collection fee apan hugot  nilang  gisugyot ang pag-establilsar og Material Recovery Facility (MRF) ug sa pagbaton sa sestima diha sa pagkolekta sa basura.
