THE 21st City Council headed by Vice Mayor Bebot Rodriguez passed a resolution requesting President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. to declare January 9 of every year as a special non-working holiday in the city, in observance of the Feast of Black Nazarene.


The Feast of Black Nazarene is one of the most significant religious events in the country, attracting millions of devotees to the annual procession.


The resolution seeks to provide ample opportunity for residents to participate in the festivities and religious observance associated with the event.


Councilor Roger G. Abaday is the proponent of the resolution, saying that the Feast of the Black Nazarene is not just a religious event, it is a unifying moment for the city. (JBD/SP)

Kini human ang konseho sa sesyo niadtong Lunes nga gidumala  ni Bise Mayor Bebot Rodriguez hiniusang misagop sa resolusyon nga nag-uli sa ordinansa sa maong barangay nga may kalabotan sa ilang 2026 Annual Budget nga adunay bana-banang kinitaan ug galastohon  nga mokabat sa P 65,099,803.


Ubos sa maong budget, migahin ang barangay og igong kantidad  alang  pagpasemento sa dalan nga adunay drainage diha sa Zone 5 Olape Compound, pagtukod og multipurpose building, pagkoral  sa health center, pagtukod og drainage sa covered court diha sa Zone 4 ug Don Mariano Compound.


Dugtong niini, migahin usab ang barangay og igong kantidad alang sa  pagpahigayon og training kalabot sa pagpangandam sa kalamidad, pagpalit og dumptrucks, rescue vehicle, calamity related supplies ug uban pa.


Ang resolusyon nga gisagop sa Konseho alang sa maong katuyoan gipaluyohan sa komite sa barangay affairs ni Konsehal Marlo Tabac ug komite sa pamalaod ug reglamento ni Konsehal Edgar Cabanlas. (JRG/SP)


 
 

The 21st City Council during its regular session presided over by Vice Mayor Bebot Rodriguez has enacted an ordinance authorizing Mayor Rolando A. Uy to enter into and sign the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with One Systems Integration Philippines, Inc. and OneSystems Technologies Ltd., Inc. (Singapore) for the trial installation of AI-assisted traffic management system at no cost to the city government.


The pilot areas shall cover three four-way signalized intersections and shall include the deployment, integration, operation, and support of the components.


The installation shall be conducted for a period of six months from the date of system activation.

Under the MOA, the city desires to evaluate the technical, operational, legal, and policy suitability of the proposed system prior to any decision to undertake a citywide deployment under a Hybrid Public Private Partnership (PPP) arrangement.


The parties also agree to conduct a limited, non-commercial, non-binding pilot implementation, strictly for evaluation and demonstration purposes.


By deploying advanced artificial intelligence solutions, enhanced traffic flow, reduced travel times, and increased overall road safety for the public are expected in the city streets. (JBD/SP)
