SP authorizes Mayor Uy to transfer funds to DepEd-CDO

THE 20th City Council enacted an ordinance authorizing City Mayor Rolando A. Uy to enter into and sign the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Department of Education - Division of Cagayan de Oro City (DepEd-CDO), represented by its Schools Division Superintendent Roy Angelo E. Gazo, covering the transfer of P9,269,280.00 from the CY 2024 Special Education Fund to DepEd-CDO for the 2024 Regional Athletic Meet to be held on May 13-17, 2024.

The purpose of the MOA is to comply with Section 4.1 of the Commission on Audit Circular No. 94-013, which reads, “The Source Agency shall enter into an agreement with the Implementing Agency for the undertaking by the latter of the project of the former.”

In his letter, Mayor Uy recommended for its approval, citing that the expenditure of public funds for the above-stated DepEd-CDO activities was duly appropriated and approved by the Local School Board through Resolution No. 3, series of 2024.

The said MOA was reviewed by the City Legal Office and the City Local Finance Committee.
