Local AIDS Council tackles World AIDS Day preparations, updates on HIV/AIDS IRR

The Local AIDS Council is making preparations for the observance of World AIDS Day on December 1.

Presiding over the meeting, Councilor Paolo Nicolo Gaane, chair of the City Council committee on health, highlighted the importance of coordinating efforts among concerned offices and stakeholders to ensure the successful observance of World AIDS Day.

The observance aims to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS, promote prevention, and strengthen support for people living with HIV.

The meeting also focused on the progress of the IRR of the HIV/AIDS ordinance to ensure that the necessary guidelines are in place to translate the provisions of the ordinance into effective programs and services.

The discussions form part of the city’s continuing efforts to strengthen its local response to HIV/AIDS. (JBD/SP)
