Councilor Gilda O. Go emphasized inclusive protection and community care during the First Women’s Congress held at the City Tourism Hall.
Go, chair of the committee on senior citizens, said building a compassionate community requires policies that safeguard every sector, especially vulnerable groups.

“Let this Congress be a pathway toward a city that truly values care and protection for every member of the community. Padayon, kababayen-an!” she said.
She stressed that while attention is often given to women and children, the needs of senior citizens must also be addressed for their role as caregivers, community anchors, and sources of wisdom.
Go further underscored the importance of awareness and dialogue in addressing trafficking and violence, noting that access to accurate information empowers communities to act.

The congress gathered advocates and stakeholders from various sectors, including Councilor Des Dahino and City Mayor’s Office Chief-of-Staff Shiela Lumbatan. (JAO/SP)
