Go advocates women’s unity, empowerment in Oro

Councilor Gilda O. Go graced “Panaghiusa sa Kababayen-an sa Oro: One Vision, Empowering Change”, strengthening her commitment to initiatives that advance women’s welfare.

Representing committee on women and family relations chairperson Councilor Des Dahino, in her capacity as vice chairperson, Go highlighted the evolving challenges faced by women in today’s society and the need for both awareness and resilience.

“Dili lalim ang hagit sa panahon karon,” Go expressed, emphasizing that women must be equipped not only with knowledge of their rights under Republic Act No. 11313, also known as the Safe Spaces Act, but also with practical skills that ensure family sustainability.

The councilor cited urban gardening as one of the empowering tools that enable women to contribute to household food security while fostering self-reliance.

Through the activity, Go affirmed that women in Cagayan de Oro continue to embody intelligence, resourcefulness, and courage. (JAO/SP)
