The 21st City Council has approved Proposed Resolution No. 2026-309, accrediting the Upper Batinay–Macopa Farmer’s Association for membership in local special bodies, during its 33rd Regular Session presided over by Vice Mayor Bebot Rodriguez.
The accreditation was endorsed by the committee on planning, research & innovation and people’s organization accreditation, chaired by Councilor Jonjon Rodriguez, in accordance with DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2025-060 and Article 64, Rule XIII of the Rules and Regulations Implementing the Local Government Code of 1991.
With the approval of the measure, the Upper Batinay–Macopa Farmer’s Association is now recognized as a legitimate people’s organization eligible to participate in governance processes and development planning at the local level.
The association aims to uplift its members’ living conditions, protect farmers’ interests, and implement welfare programs through strong coordination with government and rural organizations.
Its key services include farming assistance and technology support, livelihood and skills training, cooperative marketing of farm produce, and partnerships for agricultural programs.
It also plans to develop income-generating projects to improve the economic condition of its members and the community. (JDO/SP)
