Cabanlas, Lim inspect lot in Brgy Patag for proposed multi-purpose bldg

COUNCILORS Edgar S. Cabanlas and Yan Lam S. Lim checked the lot in Barangay Patag identified by the barangay council for its proposed multi-purpose building.

The barangay council requested the city government to utilize the said lot in promoting community engagement and development.

During the inspection, Barangay Patag Chair Eric Abaday said they have already requested Mayor Rolando A. Uy for the use of the lot under a usufruct agreement.

The committee observed that the said lot is being used as parking area and dump site.

Barangay Chair Abaday said the proposed project will be funded by the Department of Public Works and Highways and he is worried it might be put on hold.

Councilor Cabanlas, chair of the City Council committee on subdivision, expressed hope that the said lot may be given to the barangay council, as this may serve various community needs, including recreational activities and local gatherings.

With this, the committee referred to the City Legal Office to process the draft of the usufruct agreement for the purpose. (JBD/SP)
