To help in the community operations and services of Barangay Bugo, the 21st City Council, led by Vice Mayor Bebot Rodriguez, approved the ₱47.1 million budget of the said barangay.
The available fund is the summation of its national tax allotment of ₱40.7 million, ₱1.7 million from real property tax, ₱726,000 from business clearances and community tax, and a ₱3.9 million income from sand and gravel.
Taking the lion’s share of ₱26.8 million is the maintenance and other operating expenses intended for office supplies, payment for utilities and fuel, travel and training, and repair and maintenance of office buildings, structures, and vehicles.
It will also fund various programs for the environment, health and nutrition, education, social services for senior citizens and persons with disability, livelihood, agriculture, as well as cultural, gender and development, and anti-illegal drug activities.
The barangay council also earmarked ₱445,000 for the improvement of RVS plaza and purchase of one unit of laptop and printer, three units of motorcycles, and two units of television.
To prepare for any natural eventualities, ₱2.3 million has been intended for the purchase of calamity-related supplies and equipment, clearing of draining, and information and capacity building.
Meanwhile, the ₱8.1-million development fund will be used for the construction of a multipurpose building, rehabilitation of roads, buildings, and day care and health centers, and installation of streetlight systems.
₱4.7 million, which is the 10% share of the Sangguniang Kabataan, has been allocated for the youth development program of Bugo.
The said appropriation first underwent the perusal of the barangay council headed by Punong Barangay Spencer Cailing, and further reviewed and endorsed to the City Council through the committees on barangay affairs and on laws and rules chaired by Councilor Marlo Tabac and Councilor Edgar S. Cabanlas, respectively. (FDC/SP)
