Vice Mayor Rodriguez, Councilor Go affirm joint advocacy for senior citizens at 2025 Elderly Filipino Week launch

Vice Mayor Bebot Rodriguez and Councilor Gilda O. Go, chairperson of the City Council committee on senior citizens, joined senior citizens, government officials, and partner agencies in the launch of the 2025 National Celebration of Elderly Filipino Week with the theme “Embracing Age: Living a Life with Dignity and Purpose.”

The activity, held on October 1, 2025, at SM City Downtown, brought together elderly representatives from five provinces in Northern Mindanao, along with key officials, including National Commission of Senior Citizens (NCSC) Region X Regional Director Mary Jean H. Asum and PhilHealth Region X Regional Vice President Delio Aseron II.

In their messages, both Vice Mayor Rodriguez and Councilor Go emphasized their shared advocacy to advance the welfare of senior citizens in Cagayan de Oro City.

“Our senior citizens are the foundation of our communities. We remain united in ensuring they live with dignity, purpose, and active participation in society,” they underscored.
