THE City Council committee on environment chaired by Councilor Roger Abaday will take up the request of the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines to partner with the city government to conduct a seminar on environmental awareness, sustainability practices, and responsible stewardship on natural resources.

Dr. RJ Krista Raye Leocadio, head of the department of environmental science and technology of the college of science and mathematics, stated in her letter to Mayor Rolando Klarex Uy through Councilor Abaday that it is part of their university’s ongoing effort in supporting local and national efforts in protecting the environment through information drive.
As such the university is seeking the assistance of the City to identify key areas which would benefit from the said knowledge-building program.
The presence of City Administrator Atty. Roy Hilario Raagas, City Legal Officer Atty. Kenneth Tamala, CLENRO Head Engr. Armen Cuenca, and Dr. RJ Krista Raye Leocadio are requested.
Also invited are Ms. Roxanne Mae Ravidas, City Budget Officer, Ms. Mey Gomez, Acting City Accountant, and Ms. Jasmin Maagad, City Treasurer.
June is declared the Philippine Environment pursuant to Proclamation No. 237, s. 1988 by late President Corazon Aquino. (FDCalotes/SP)
