Subd comm tackles request for DOAS with SHFC

THE City Council committee on subdivision and landed estate chaired by Councilor Edgar S. Cabanlas has started discussions on the request of the City Housing and Urban Development Department (CHUDD) for the enactment of an ordinance for the Deed of Absolute Sale between City Government of Cagayan de Oro and the Social Housing Finance Corporation (SHFC), covering the 65,000 sq.m. city-owned land in Barangay Pagatpat.

The said property will be developed by the SHFC into the Klarexville 1 Pagatpat Valley Residence under the Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program of the national government.

Ms. Janet T. Lumayag, manager of SHFC-CDO, said that Mayor Rolando “Klarex” A. Uy already signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) last year in Makati City, covering the duties and responsibilities of the parties for the housing project.

Councilor Cabanlas requested the SHFC to furnish the committee a true copy of the said pertinent document.

“Once I am satisfied with the document – [if] we are safe, everybody is safe, then, I will sponsor this ordinance”, he said.

Ms. Lumayag is hoping the City Council will immediately act on the request to expedite the process of acquiring the lot and the development of Klarexville to be funded by the SHFC.

“Dili namo ma-release ang funds because we need this agreement,” she stressed.

APPRAISED VALUE

For her part, Councilor Imee Moreno inquired as to how the CHUDD arrived at the ₱1,500 per square meter appraised value of the lot.

Ms. Lumayag explained that the agreed cost is based on the actual development cost.

She added that site developments such as underground drainage with detention pond were already implemented. It is a township classification with commercial spaces housing project.

“Mao nang lahi ang price per unit, but we make it affordable by the subsidy of the city government,” she said.

The committee will tackle the matter again during its next meeting. (JBDacer/SP)
