Subd comm backs DP for socialized housing project in Carmen
The City Council committee on subdivision, housing development, and landed estate chaired by Councilor Edgar S. Cabanlas, has endorsed the Development Permit (DP) application of Frances Memorial Parents Foundation, a socialized housing project in Barangay Carmen.
The subdivision project, which contains a total area of 19,698 square meters, include an on-site component for socialized housing, aligning the city’s efforts to address residential demands.
During the committee meeting, a representative of City Engineer’s Office said the subdivision is already occupied by homeowners.
She added that the project’s Preliminary Subdivision and Development Plan (PSDP) has been thoroughly assessed. The design adheres to the city ordinance, specifically noting that the road dimensions meet the mandatory requirements.
To align the development more closely with its residential purpose, Councilor Cabanlas proposed a change to the subdivision’s name, specifically requesting that the word “memorial” be removed.
Mr. Nestor Viado, president of the homeowners, said he would bring the suggestion to the homeowners for further discussion and consideration.
With this, the committee endorsed the application to the committee on laws and rules chaired by Councilor Cabanlas for appropriate action. (JBD/SP)
