Subd comm acts on residents’ concern over RROW in Brgy Puntod

IN response to the concern raised by barangay officials and residents of Balacanas, Barangay Puntod, the City Council committee on subdivision, housing development, and landed estate, chaired by Councilor Edgar S. Cabanlas, convened to address the potential obstruction of a main road following a property owner’s plan to construct a fence.

During the meeting, Barangay Chair Alexis J. Dacer said that residents raised concerns that the proposed fence could encroach upon the road right-of-way, hindering access and movement for those living in the vicinity.

A representative of the City Engineer’s Office informed the committee that they already conducted a survey of the area and confirmed that part of the lot is owned by the city. “Supposed to be dili ma-koral ang road right-of-way,” he said.

After careful consideration, the committee passed a resolution urging the property owner to refrain from closing the access road and requesting the City Engineer and the Office of the Building Official not to issue any permits that would result in the closure of the access road leading to the main highway.
