Suan: City success depends on unity

“Every time I visited the barangays, I always say that true progress begins in the barangay level. This is where the government meets the people and where compassion meets commitment”.

This was the message of Councilor Aga Suan, minority floor leader of the City Council, during the weekly flag raising ceremony in Barangay 18.

The councilor shared that the success of the city depends on the unity of the people, noting that everyone plays a part in building a better future, whether they be a parent, a teacher, a child, a youth, a senior citizen, a barangay health worker, an entrepreneur, or a businessman.

Suan even cited a line from a book he read, saying, “Fighting corruption begins with me”, emphasizing the message amid the corruption plaguing the country, particularly in light of the flood control scandal.

“ Stand up for what is right even if you are standing alone. If we have the integrity, if we have the courage we can fight and combat corruption in the Philippines,” the minority leader added.

Suan closed his message urging everyone to hope and to have faith and courage. (RNQ/SP)
