In line with the National No Smoking Month, City Councilor Paolo Nicolo Gaane urged city residents to protect public health by refraining from cigarette smoking.
As chair of the City Council committee on health, he encouraged residents to model smoke-free behavior and to talk with young people about the risks of nicotine and tobacco products.
“I am reminding everyone that every cigarette avoided, every vape refused, and every healthy choice made is a step toward a stronger future for the next generation”, he said.
The councilor also reminds everyone to start making small concrete changes by avoiding smoking areas, refusing offers of cigarettes or vapes, and reaching out for help to quit. (JBD/SP)
