SP OKs change in nomenclature of CEO’s vacant positions


THE 19th City Council during its regular session Monday presided over by Vice Mayor Raineir Joaquin V. Uy enacted an ordinance changing the nomenclature of various vacant positions in the plantilla of the City Engineering Office (CEO). This is pursuant to DBM Local Budget Circular No. 137 dated July 13, 2021e entitled “Index of Occupational Services, Position Titles and Salary Grades in the Local Government (IOS-LGU), CY 2021 which identifies positions appropriate for LGUs and further requires certain positions to be converted to generic class titles.

It also conforms to Section 325 (f) of RA 7160 of the Local Government Code of 1991 which provides for the general limitations on the use of provincial, city and municipal funds, The Gavel learned.

The old positions of Mason II and Carpenter II are renamed as Administrative Aide V while the Carpenter I position is now Administrative Aide III.

Through an ordinance, legislators also approved the payment of salary differential of an employee due to her step increment for the period from November 2, 2021 to December 31, 2021 in the Office of the Building Official (OBO).

The committees on finance, budget and appropriations and on laws and rules chaired respectively by Councilors Edna M. Dahino and Ian Mark Q. Nacaya sponsored the ordinances. (SP/JAOclarit)
