SP eases curfew hours for fiesta activities

The 20th City Council, led by Vice Mayor Bebot Rodriguez, has passed an ordinance authorizing Honorable City Mayor Rolando “Klarex” Uy, the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (COCPO), and other law enforcement agencies to relax the implementation of the curfew for minors during selected activities of the Higalaay Festival as determined by the Local Chief Executive.

This decision comes in response to a letter-request from Ms. Sheila B. Lumbatan and Councilor Jay R. Pascual, both Co-Chairpersons of the Higalaay Festival urging the city legislators to consider allowing certain festival events to run beyond midnight, thus accommodating the vibrant and festive spirit of the celebration.

Vice Mayor Rodriguez believes the ordinance will ensure that the festival's activities, which often extend till the late hours, can proceed smoothly while maintaining public safety and order.

The COCPO and other law enforcement agencies are tasked with implementing this ordinance effectively during the festival period.

The ordinance was authored by Vice Mayor Bebot Rodriguez and approved by the members of the City Council.
