THE 21st City Council headed by Vice Mayor Bebot Rodriguez passed a resolution requesting President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. to declare January 9 of every year as a special non-working holiday in the city, in observance of the Feast of Black Nazarene.
The Feast of Black Nazarene is one of the most significant religious events in the country, attracting millions of devotees to the annual procession.
The resolution seeks to provide ample opportunity for residents to participate in the festivities and religious observance associated with the event.
Councilor Roger G. Abaday is the proponent of the resolution, saying that the Feast of the Black Nazarene is not just a religious event, it is a unifying moment for the city. (JBD/SP)
