SP approves extension of CLUP updating

IN its regular session Monday, presided over by Vice Mayor Bebot Rodriguez, the 20th City Council adopted a resolution extending the updating of the Comprehensive Land Use Plan (CLUP) of the City of Cagayan de Oro to cover a planning period of 2024-2032 as recommended by the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) - Region 10.

In his letter, DHSUD-10 Regional Director Ariel B. Abragan said that after a series of meetings and consultations, there is a need to recalibrate the remaining five years of the planning period (2023-2027) to integrate other planning landscapes to keep abreast with and be more responsive to the current development pathways of the city.

The legislation was reviewed and endorsed by the Committees on Planning, Research, and Innovation and People’s Organization Accreditation and on Laws and Rules, respectively chaired by Councilors Ian Mark Q. Nacaya and Edgar S. Cabanlas.
