SK Consolacion 2025 budget ok’d

During its 121st regular session, presided over by Vice Mayor Bebot Rodriguez, the 20th City Council unanimously approved the 2025 Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) budget for Barangay Consolacion with an estimated income of  ₱1,969,660.00.

Of this amount, ₱1,210,000.00 is allocated for various youth development and empowerment programs, focusing on health, education, economic empowerment, social inclusion and equity, peace-building and security, governance, active citizenship, environmental sustainability, and agriculture.

Additionally, ₱267,252.00 is earmarked for operational expenses, including travel, training, fidelity bond, office supplies, SK federation annual dues, and other necessary materials. Meanwhile, ₱492,408.00 is designated for the personal services of SK members.

This budget allocation complies with the provisions of the Sangguniang Kabataan Reform Act of 2015 (Republic Act No. 10742), which mandates that 10% of a barangay’s annual general fund be allocated to SK-led initiatives.

The legislation was reviewed and endorsed by the Committee on Sports and Youth Development, chaired by Councilor Kenneth John D. Sacala, and the Committee on Laws and Rules, chaired by Councilor Edgar S. Cabanlas. (SPEscoltos/SP)
