Rodriguez joins solo parents in KAAGAPAY 2026

Councilor Jonjon Rodriguez reaffirmed his continued support for solo parents during KAAGAPAY 2026: Solo Parent Panagtigum, held in celebration of Solo Parent Week 2026.

Speaking before the gathering, Rodriguez said that as a father of two, he understands the challenges of parenthood, noting that solo parents bear an even greater responsibility as they face life’s daily struggles on their own.

He lauded them for their strength, sacrifice, and unwavering dedication to raising their children, qualities he said deserve admiration and support.

Rodriguez, chairperson of the Social Services Committee, also addressed the subsidy allocated for solo parents under the 2026 budget, explaining that its release has been delayed due to the current national crises.

Nonetheless, he assured beneficiaries that he has been consistently following up on the matter to help facilitate its immediate release.

As an added manifestation of support, Rodriguez personally extended an additional ₱10,000 in financial assistance for the activity.

Also present during the event were Councilor Desiree Dahino and Councilor Gigi Go, who likewise conveyed their solidarity and encouragement to the solo parent community. (JDO/SP)
