Rodriguez graces Elderly Filipino Week culmination program

Councilor Jonjon Rodriguez joined hundreds of senior citizens from various chapter organizations in Cagayan de Oro City during the Elderly Filipino Week Celebration 2026 culmination program held at the City Tourism Hall.

As chairperson of the committee on social services and a member of the committee on senior citizens, Rodriguez reaffirmed his support for programs that promote the welfare, protection, rights, and dignity of senior citizens.

He underscored the importance of ensuring that the elderly receive the care, respect, and support they deserve, while recognizing their invaluable contributions to their families and communities.

With the theme “Nakatatandang Pilipino: May Halaga at Karapatan, May Boses at Ambag sa Bayan,” the celebration highlighted the vital role of senior citizens in society.

The City Social Welfare and Development Department (CSWD), through the Office for Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA-CDO), spearheaded the activity, with support from the National Commission of Senior Citizens (NCSC).

Also present was Councilor Gilda “Gigi” Go, chairperson of the committee on senior citizens, along with other city officials and stakeholders. (JDO/SP)
