City earmarks funds for JRBGH, CHO in 2027 Annual Budget

The city government has earmarked funds for the J.R. Borja General Hospital (JRBGH) and City Health Office (CHO) under the city’s ₱9.55 billion 2027 budget.

The allocated funds will be used for the purchase of one set of laparoscopic surgery system worth ₱35 million, 50 units of hospital bed (₱4.2 million), three units of mechanical ventilator (₱6.6 million), 100kw dual0mode solar photovoltaic system (₱10 million).

JRBGH-Lumbia has funded medical equipment for the purchase of one-unit 2D echo ultrasound machine worth ₱15 million, one unit of x-ray machine (₱10 million), while JRBGH-Tablon has allocated ₱2.4 million for the purchase of one unit DOH-standard ambulance, renovation and upgrading of operating room, operating room-delivery & post-anesthesia care unit (₱10 million).

Meanwhile, the CHO has been allocated ₱300,000 for its community based physical rehabilitation program, health and wellness for senior citizens and Persons with Disability (PWD) amounting to ₱800,000, laboratory services (₱4.09 million), National Tuberculosis Program (NTP) at ₱2 million, non-communicable disease prevention and control (₱2.5 million), and nutrition program (₱2.5 million).

Part of the budget will also be utilized for the programs of mental health (₱350,000), cancer control (₱100,000), Sexually Transmitted Diseases-Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (STD AIDS) at ₱2 million, Dangerous Drug Treatment and Prevention Program, Dental health services - ₱1 million, and Disaster Risk Reduction and Management in health system at ₱1 million, and Rabies Program at ₱2.25 million.

As chair of the committee on health, Councilor Paolo Nicolo Gaane, expressed his support to the city, saying that through these allocations, the city government seeks to strengthen its healthcare programs and continued delivery of accessible and quality healthcare services for the constituents.
