Public hearing on proposed new housing project fee schedule held

THE City Council committee on subdivision, housing development, landed estate, conducted a public hearing the proposed ordinance approving the revised schedule of fees for subdivision projects that was pegged 20 years ago.
Key components of the proposed measure include granting exemptions from payment of subdivision fees and charges for government or private socialized housing projects.
During the hearing, a representative from City Housing Urban Development Department (CHUDD) explained that on apartment or town houses costing less than ₱500,000, the proposed fee is ₱2,400 from the current ₱1,000.
On dormitories, if the project cost is ₱2 million and below, the fee will be ₱6,000 up from ₱2,500.
For Development Permit (DP) processing fee, ₱4,800 from ₱2,000; while the DP inspection fee, ₱2,500 from ₱1,000.
One of the developers present during the hearing agreed to the proposed increase, citing it has been 20 years since the schedule of fees were implemented.
The committee agreed to incorporate all suggestions and comments from the stakeholders in the proposed ordinance for final deliberation.
The public hearing held at City Council Session Hall gathered stakeholders, including developers, barangay officials, and concerned citizens.
Councilors George Christopher Goking, Maximo T. Rodriguez, Imee Rose P. Moreno, Agan Suan, and Yevonna Yacine Emano were also present during the public hearing. (JBD/SP)
