Oro Mental Health Board sworn in, vows to bolster mental health programs

THE officers and members of the Cagayan de Oro Mental Health Board (COMHB) officially took their oath before City Mayor Rolando “Klarex” Uy, who serves as the board’s chairperson, held at his office.


Among those inducted was Councilor Jonjon Rodriguez, Chairperson of the City Council’s Committee on Social Services. He joined co-chairpersons Councilor Paolo Nicolo Gaane, who heads the Committee on Health and Health Insurance, and Atty. Raquel B. Limbaco, Assistant Department Manager of the Human Resource Management Office.


Other members of the board include Dr. Jose Coruna Jr. of the Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC); Ms. Jaymee Leonen Pagaspas, Clinical Psychologist from the City Social Welfare Department; Ms. Rhea S. Sarceno, Occupational Therapist from NMMC; as well as representatives from the House of Hope, City Health Office, JR Borja General Hospital, Department of Education–Cagayan de Oro City Division, Department of Health Region 10, and other concerned offices and organizations.


It can be recalled that through the efforts of Councilors Rodriguez and Gaane, Mayor Uy signed Executive Order No. 260, amending EO 250, s. 2024, which formally reconstituted the Cagayan de Oro Mental Health Board.


The COMHB seeks to further strengthen the city’s mental health programs and services, ensuring that every Kagay-anon is supported in achieving holistic mental and emotional well-being. (JDO & JBD/SP)
