Oro dads approve 2026 annual budget

In its 16th regular session presided over by Vice Mayor Bebot Rodriguez, the 21^st City Council approved the executive budget of the city for fiscal year 2026, with an estimated income of ₱8,288,070,808.00 for the General Fund and ₱1,261,929,192.00 for the Special Account: Local Economic Enterprises/Utilities.

Sixteen council members voted in favor of the motion to approve made by Majority Floor Leader Councilor Edgar Cabanlas, while two (2) voted against.

It may be recalled that the City Council as committee-of-the-whole held last week a budget hearing attended by various City Hall departments to review the ₱10.15 Billion budget submitted by City Mayor Rolando A. Uy.

After thorough deliberation, the City Council agreed to reduce the budget by P600 Million, citing challenges in revenues.

The approved expenditure program covers general public services, social services, and economic services sectors, including auxiliary programs under the Office of the City Mayor, all geared toward advancing the city’s development priorities. (SPE/SP)
