Names of One Covid-19 allowance recipients already submitted to DOH - Gaane

Councilor Maria Lourdes S. Gaane, chair of the City Council committee on health, nutrition and health insurance, said the names of City Hall personnel who are eligible to receive One Covid Allowance (OCA) have already been endorsed to the Department of Health for processing and approval.

The lady councilor made the clarifications during the regular session last week, presided over by City Vice Mayor Jocelyn B. Rodriguez, in response to the report of Councilor Malvern Esparcia asking on the status of the much-needed release of OCA, a financial aid to health workers, particularly in JR Borja General Hospital (JRBGH).

It may be recalled that a few months ago, Councilor Esparcia rendered a special report on the status of the delayed payment of the OCA to doctors and nurses of JRBGH.

During the regular session, Councilor Gaane informed the legislative body that she already discussed the matter with Ms. Amy Milvar, chief of finance division of JRBGH, who informed her that they’re still having a problem in accessing the system of DOH for uploading the names of recipients.

However, she said the names of recipients for January to June 2022 were already uploaded to the DOH but still waiting for the release of funds.

With this, Councilor Gaane lauded Councilor Esparcia for raising the concern, saying that this will be tackled again by her committee.

Vice Mayor Rodriguez expressed her hopes that the said allowance to health workers of JRBGH and City Health Office will be facilitated and fast-tracked. “I hope this can be facilitated kay murag dugay-dugay na gyud. It’s almost Christmas time and they’ll be needing the money, I hope ma-paspasan,” the vice mayor said.
