Councilor Al Legaspi Sr., chair of the committee on public works, led a site inspection to address a right-of-way issue affecting a private lot at Taguanao Bridge, Barangay Indahag.

His visit aimed to present a recent redesign of the construction of Cagayan de Oro Basins, Package 1 to the affected family and ensure their concerns are addressed before construction proceeds.
During a previous inspection of his committee on public works, the affected lot owner still hesitated to grant permission for government to access the property, citing concerns that the said flood control project and a potential future boulevard could displace the family.
Because of this, Legaspi requested the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) to redesign certain sections of the project to minimize the impact on the property.
With the redesign completed, the committee returned to the site to present the updated plans to the family, represented by Mr. Bernie Bacarro.
He reassured the Bacarros that the permit under consideration applies only to the flood control project.
As for the proposed boulevard, the councilor said that alternative arrangements will be made in coordination with relevant agencies and the barangay, taking into account the concerns of both the Bacarro family and the adjacent Dahino lot.
Should the family grant their consent, the government will assist in processing necessary documents, such as annotating the lot title, he further pointed out.
Final decisions remain pending as Mr. Bacarro still needs to discuss the redesigned plan with his family.
Councilor Legaspi confirmed that another site inspection or coordination meeting will be scheduled to finalize the arrangements and ensure the project can proceed smoothly upon consent of the affected family. (SPE/SP)
