Judith proposes mandatory broadcast of SB, SK sessions

“SOCIAL media and technology are not the agents of change; they are just tools. We, the connected people, are the agents of change.”

Thus, Councilor James K. Judith II stressed in his special report during the regular session Monday regarding his proposed ordinance mandating the FB live streaming or broadcasting of SB/SK sessions of all barangays in the city.

The councilor manifested the purpose of his proposal, stating that the internet and social media play crucial roles in implementing the principles of transparency and participatory governance.

Additionally, the councilor further advocated for making the policy not just mandatory but also an integral requirement for approving their respective barangay budgets.

As requested, the matter was referred to the Committees on Barangay Affairs and Sports and Youth Development chaired by Councilor Yan Lam S. Lim and John Kenneth Sacala, respectively, for appropriate action.
