GOKING CALLS ON ESTABLISHMENTS TO LOOK INTO SECURITY OF CLIENTS, BUILDINGS COUNCILOR

George S. Goking, chair of the City Council committee on trade and commerce, is urging the business sector to look into the safety of their establishments following the 7.3 magnitude earthquake that took place in Northern Luzon Wednesday.

Councilor Goking said it is necessary to review safety measures in buildings to avoid loss of lives and damages to properties.

He stressed the necessity of being aware and be prepared for such eventuality.

“Even if you don’t live in an area with a lot of seismic activity, no one is 100-percent safe from this disaster. Make sure that you have enough supplies, including food, medications, fire extinguishers, batteries and flashlights. Have an expert test the foundation of your house to ensure its structural safety in the event of an earthquake,” he cited.

Councilor Goking advises the public not to panic but to observe survival rules. (SP/APDelgra)
