Councilor Gilda O. Go actively participated in the Emergency Preparedness and Response (EPR) Readiness and the Role of Local Government Units (LGUs) seminar, reaffirming her commitment to strengthening local government preparedness and enhancing community resilience.

EPR refers to the strategies, systems, and actions undertaken before, during, and after emergencies to protect lives, property, and the environment.

These include risk assessment, early warning mechanisms, coordination among agencies, response operations, and post-disaster recovery efforts, the key responsibilities of LGUs in ensuring public safety.

Through her engagement in the seminar, Councilor Go underscored the importance of proactive leadership and readiness in addressing emergencies and disasters.

She emphasized that well-prepared local governments are better equipped to respond effectively, minimize risks, and safeguard communities.

Go also stressed that sustained training, planning, and information-sharing are essential components of effective emergency preparedness and building resilient systems. (JAO/SP/Photos from Councilor Go’s FB page)
