Councilor Gilda O. Go, representing Councilor Desiree Dahino, led the oathtaking ceremony of the newly elected officers of the Barangay Women and Development Council (BWDC) of Barangay 22 on April 18, 2026.

The ceremony formally installed the set of women leaders who will spearhead programs and initiatives focused on gender and development (GAD), women’s rights, and family welfare at the barangay level.

The BWDC plays a vital role in promoting inclusive governance by ensuring that women’s voices are represented in community planning and decision-making.

As vice chair of the committee on women and family relations, Councilor Go expressed her full support for the newly inducted officers, encouraging them to actively champion initiatives that uplift women, protect family welfare, and strengthen grassroots participation.

She emphasized the importance of responsive leadership in addressing issues affecting women and families in the community.

In her message, the lady councilor underscored the significance of the occasion, describing it as a milestone in advancing gender equality and community development.

“This milestone reflects our shared commitment to empowering women, strengthening families, and building a more inclusive community. Congratulations to the new BWDC officers, may you lead with passion, integrity, and purpose,” Go stated. (JAO/SP)
