COUNCILOR Gilda O. Go, chairperson of the committee on senior citizens, led the community-based training on basic stoneware pottery operations held in Barangay Bulua.
The said activity was in partnership with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), represented by Misamis Oriental Provincial Director Marigold Cherie R. Garrido and Regional Director Rafael Y. Abrogar II, the Public Employment Service Office (PESO)–CDO, through Kathleen Kate D. Sorilla, LPT, Rhodora A. Abella, owner of Stoneware Pottery, Inc., and the Provincial Training Center–CDO (PTC-CDO) headed by Kaye Kashka Abrogar.
The training equipped senior citizens with hands-on pottery-making skills that can provide both livelihood opportunities and creative fulfillment.
Beyond fostering craftsmanship, the initiative also promotes mental well-being, social interaction, and continued productivity among the elderly.
Councilor Go underscored her steadfast dedication to programs that uplift and recognize senior citizens, highlighting their significant role in community growth.
She expressed that initiatives enhancing their abilities and self-worth contribute greatly to a society that values purpose, dignity, and inclusion for all ages. (JAO/SP/Photos from Councilor Go’s FB page)
