Go backs Red Cross fundraising drive for humanitarian services

City Councilor Gilda “Gigi” Go emphasized the importance of compassion, generosity, and community involvement during Hearts in Action: Dining with Purpose, a fundraising event organized by the Philippine Red Cross Misamis Oriental Chapter on October 24 at the Limketkai Luxe Hotel.

The dinner aimed to raise funds to support the Red Cross’ operational needs, purchase emergency response equipment to strengthen response capacity, and promote its humanitarian services and programs.

The event also highlighted how individual acts of kindness and collective contributions can help people in need.

Go emphasized the value of initiatives that encourage individuals and communities to work together to support humanitarian efforts.

She noted that gatherings such as Hearts in Action go beyond sharing a meal, offering an opportunity to strengthen solidarity and inspire people to help build a more caring, resilient, and compassionate community.

The councilor also expressed her gratitude to the Philippine Red Cross Misamis Oriental Chapter for its commitment to philanthropic service and for bringing people together in support of a meaningful cause. (PGU/SP)
