Dahino wants GAD Center project fast-tracked

THE City Council committee on finance, budget & appropriations chaired by Councilor Edna Marban-Dahino during its recent meeting discussed the quotation submitted by Engr. Rolando M. Pacuribot, city engineer for the Soil Boring Testing and Structural Analysis and Design of the proposed Gender and Development Office (GAD).

Dahino stressed that fast action should be taken so that the GAD center will rise soon.

The GAD center is necessary as it will become the shelter for women and children who are victims of abuse. It is the place where possible changes in their lives will happen for a better tomorrow, Councilor Dahino said.

“We will help them the best way we can,” she assured.

It was learned that the major problem to start the project is the advance release of the amount for the payment of the Soil Boring Testing which is needed by the contractor.

The committee will continue discussing the matter with the city engineer.
