Dahino for responsible reporting on mental health

CITY Councilor Des Dahino, representing Mayor Rolando "Klarex" Uy, encouraged media practitioners, student publication representatives, and vloggers to uphold responsible reporting during the seminar on the Role of Media in Mental Health.

A psychology graduate and registered psychometrician, Dahino urged attendees to approach every story with truth, compassion, and respect for human dignity, while using their platforms to educate, encourage, and bring hope to the communities they serve.

Spearheaded by the City Social Welfare and Development (CSWD) Psychosocial Unit in partnership with the City Information Office, the activity aimed to strengthen the partnership between the local government and media practitioners in promoting responsible journalism and compassionate storytelling, especially when reporting on individuals experiencing mental health concerns.
