DADS GRANT PAY GRADE HIKE TO CITY HALL HEALTH RETIREES

THROUGH separate ordinances, the 20th City Council during its regular session presided over by Vice Mayor Jocelyn Rodriguez granted salary grade increases to personnel of the J.R. The salary increase is pursuant to Section 30 of RA 7305 (Magna Carta for Public Health Workers), which provides that three months prior to compulsory retirement, public health worker shall automatically be granted one salary grade higher than his/her basic salary and his/her retirement benefit thereafter computed on basis of his/her highest salary, provided, that he/she has reached the age and fulfilled service requirements under existing laws.

The Council also appropriated an amount from the item “personal services-salary savings for the period of January 2023” in the 2023 Annual Budget of the said offices for payment of their salary differential.

The legislations were reviewed and endorsed by the committees on health, nutrition, and health insurance, on finance, budget and appropriation, and on laws and rules respectively chaired by Councilors Maria Lourdes S. Gaane, Yan Lam S. Lim, and Ian Mark Q. Nacaya.
