Dads ask DA to provide livelihood assistance to hog raisers in Oro

THE 19th City Council during its regular session yesterday presided over by Vice Mayor Raineir Joaquin V. Uy adopted a resolution earnestly requesting Regional Executive Director Carlene C. Collado of the Department of Agriculture-Region 10 (DA-10) to provide livelihood assistance to hog raisers in the city who are affected by the African Swine Fever (ASF).

The city has now recorded some 406 hog raisers who were affected by the culling or depopulation of their infected livestock.

The assistance is expected to give the hog raisers enough aid to be able to recover from their losses and to provide them a long-lasting and sustainable source of income.

The legislation was authored by Councilors Jay R. Pascual and Ian Mark Q. Nacaya, chairmen of the City Council committees on agriculture and on laws and rules, respectively. (SP/JAOclarit)
