Councilor Moreno “Jing” Daba IV congratulated the 1,375 successful applicants who qualified for the City Government's Hawak Kamay–Makab-ot Ang Klarong Ugma (HK-MKU) Scholarship Program.

Daba joined City Mayor Rolando A. Uy in personally awarding certificates to the waitlisted applicants during an assembly held last week at the Capitol University Gymnasium. The recipients are now eligible to enroll at PHINMA–Cagayan de Oro College (PHINMA-COC).

The city councilor expressed optimism that the scholarship will provide deserving students with greater access to quality higher education despite financial constraints. He encouraged the scholars to make the most of the opportunity by remaining committed to their studies and striving for academic excellence.

Daba also acknowledged the continued support of the City Government under the leadership of Mayor Uy in prioritizing programs that empower the youth through education. He emphasized that investing in students today is an investment in a brighter and more progressive Cagayan de Oro tomorrow.

The HK-MKU Scholarship Program is part of the City Government's ongoing efforts to expand educational opportunities for underprivileged yet deserving students. Through the initiative, beneficiaries are given the opportunity to pursue a college education, equipping them with the knowledge and skills needed to secure better employment opportunities and contribute to the city's future development. (JAO/SP)
