In his speech during the opening of the Animal Bite Treatment Center in Barangay Lumbia, Councilor Moreno Y. Daba IV reaffirmed Mayor Rolando A. Uy’s commitment to strengthen public health programs and ensure accessible healthcare for all Kagay-anons.

“The establishment of this facility is a testament to the City Government’s unwavering effort to promote health and safety in every barangay,” Daba said, adding that collaboration among city offices and the Department of Health (DOH) made this milestone possible.

The ABTC in Lumbia, which had long been completed but remained closed due to a lack of equipment, is now fully operational and equipped to provide quality healthcare services.

It provides free anti-rabies vaccines, wound cleaning, and medical consultations to help prevent rabies, a fatal yet entirely preventable disease.

Accredited by both the DOH and PhilHealth, the ABTC operates in partnership with the City Veterinary Office to ensure efficient delivery of services from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.

The opening featured a blessing and ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by Councilor Daba, Department of Health (DOH) officials, Dr. Geneen Macadaig, Acting Chief of Hospital of JR Borja General Hospital–Tablon, and City Health Officer Dr. Rachel Dilla. (JAO/SP/Photos from Councilor Daba’s FB Page)
