Councilor Legaspi chairs committee on urban, rural poor

NEWLY elected Councilor Al P. Legaspi, Sr., was elected as chairperson of the City Council committee on urban and rural poor, during the first regular session of the 21st City Council held on Monday, July 7, 2024. The session was presided over by reelected City Vice Mayor Bebot Rodriguez.

The Committee on Urban and Rural Poor is mandated to study, investigate, and report on all matters relating to the condition and status of the poor and underprivileged. It seeks to promote their welfare through the provision of decent housing at affordable costs, access to basic services, and the creation of employment opportunities, particularly in resettlement areas.

The vice chair of the committee is Councilor Juancho R. Pascual with Councilors Roger G. Abaday, Paolo Nicolo E. Gaane and Imee Rose P. Moreno, as members. (JAO/SP)
