The Committee on Women and Family Relations is mandated to study, investigate, and report on all matters concerning the protection and welfare of women and families. It is responsible for formulating and reviewing measures that uphold the rights of women, particularly working women, by ensuring safe and healthful working conditions that recognize and support their maternal functions, while also enhancing their overall welfare and potential.

Moreover, the committee addresses the protection of spouses and children, focusing on assistance for proper care and nutrition, and on providing safeguards against all forms of neglect, abuse, cruelty, exploitation, and other conditions detrimental to their development.

The committee also promotes the rights of families and family associations to actively participate in the planning and implementation of policies and programs that affect their well-being.

Dahino’s appointment reflects her commitment to advancing the rights and welfare of women and families and ensuring inclusive and protective legislation that supports their development and empowerment.
