Councilor Daba backs youth-led initiative for education accountability

Councilor Moreno Y. Daba IV, chair of the City Council committee on education, reaffirmed his support for youth participation in education governance during a meeting with Multiply-Ed (X-Ed) held on November 6, 2025.


Multiply-Ed, which stands for Multi-level, Multi-sectoral Youth-Led Education Engagement, is a project of the Center for Youth Advocacy and Networking (CYAN) in partnership with Government Watch (G-Watch) and the Student Council Alliance of the Philippines (SCAP) which aims to promotes transparency, accountability, and inclusivity in the education sector.


In the meeting, Councilor Daba emphasized the vital role of young people in shaping policies and programs that directly impact their learning and development.


“Empowering the youth to take part in education policymaking ensures that our efforts truly respond to their needs and aspirations,” Councilor Daba said.


“The City Council is always open to partnerships that promote quality and accessible education for all,” he added.
