THE Office of the President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. has allocated ₱99 million to the city government for the procurement of essential medical equipment to enhance services at the city-owned hospital.
Through an ordinance, the 21st City Council headed by Vice Mayor Bebot Rodriguez authorized City Mayor Rolando A. Uy to sign the Deed of Donation and Acceptance covering the said financial assistance to the city intended to improve medical care and ensure residents have access to updated healthcare facilities.
Mayor Uy expressed gratitude towards the national government for this generous support, citing that this aligns with the city’s safety, security, and human development component of the city’s RISE agenda, which prioritizes health and overall well-being of its constituents.
Health is one of the priorities in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), particularly Good Health and Well-being (SDG3).
It has been adopted in the Philippine Development Plan (PDP) 2023-2028 which aspires to provide the Filipino people with a life that is strongly rooted, comfortable, and secure (matatag, maginhawa, at panatag). (JBD/SP)
