The city government will soon enter into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Oro Integrated Cooperative (OIC) for the implementation of gender-responsive programs in the city’s public markets.

This, after the City Council, in its recent session presided over by Vice Mayor Bebot Rodriguez, approved the ordinance for the purpose.

The initiative will be implemented through the City Economic Enterprises and Business Development Administration (CEEBDA) and the City Gender and Development (GAD) Office in partnership with the OIC.

It will focus on data gathering, program development, and the rollout of initiatives promoting gender equality, inclusive participation, and cooperative development among vendors and market stakeholders.

It will also include mechanisms for tracking and evaluating program implementation to ensure effectiveness.

Under the agreement, Mayor Klarex Uy will represent the city government, while the OIC will be represented by its Board of Directors Chairperson and Executive Director, Mr. Mansueto V. Dela Peña. (SPE/SP)
