City Council welcomes 2025 rotary youth officials as legislative counterparts

THE 21st City Council, headed by Vice Mayor Bebot Rodriguez, warmly welcomed this year’s batch of Rotary Youth officials, who will be serving as counterparts of the city councilors.
This initiative aims to engage young leaders in local governance and provide them with a platform to voice their ideas and concerns.
Sitting as counterparts are Rotary Youth Mayor Gayle G. Escobido of Gusa Regional High School and Vice Mayor April Jan P. Tangeres of Cagayan de Oro National High School.
Counterparts of the city councilors are: Rotary Youth Councilors Samantha Marie T. Calagsing (Liceo de Cagayan University); Christian M. Bebanco (Cagayan de Oro National High School); Maria Faith B. Marquez (Carmen National High School); Jesrael J. Tanbua (Angeles Sisters National High School); Jeff Hardy S. Ladrada (Tumpagon National High School); Lovely Rain O. Lumandong (Kauswagan National High School); Dan Lester M. Bacal (Carmen National High School); Rhian O. Llatuna (Angeles Sisters National High School); and Jenny Jane Y. Requiron (Iponan National High School).
Other Rotary Youth officials are: Rachel Ruth B. Reyes (Indahag National High School); Ivo Alexus C. Quidet (Corpus Christi School); Kris Allen B. Cabalhin (Merry Child School); Hafsa M. Macarambon (Corpus Christi School); Ashlyn Sophia S. Galagala (Corpus Christi School); Alfred Oliver P. Aparici (Corpus Christi School); George Angelo A. Baula (Oro Christian Grace School); Rhian May P. Flores (Bugo National High School); Timothy Gabriell S. Salvador (Liceo de Cagayan University); Zafina Anika C. Acedillo (Liceo de Cagayan University); and Jillian Rae J. De Leon (Bulua National High School).
Throughout the week, the youth councilors will have the opportunity to draft and present their own resolutions and will engage in a special session on November 28, 2025, at the City Council Session Hall.
The Rotary Youth Officials is a collaborative project of the city government, the Rotary Club of Cagayan de Oro, and the Department of Education. (JBD/SP)
