City Council grants DPWH property entry permit

THE 21st City Council has authorized Mayor Klarex Uy to sign a permit to enter the city-owned property located in Barangay 6 as requested by the Department of Public Works and Highways–Region X (DPWH-X).

In a letter addressed to the City Council, DPWH-X Assistant Regional Director Engr. Sabeniano D. Caliao Jr. sought the city’s approval to allow the department and its contractor access to the lot to commence construction activities related to Project No. 25K00233, which involves the construction of a drainage system in the Divisoria area.

The permit will allow DPWH-X to undertake preliminary and actual construction activities, including surveying, clearing and removal of improvements, trees, crops, and other obstructions, soil testing, design and pre-construction works, as well as activities necessary for the completion, operation, and maintenance of the project.

The proposed ordinance authorizing the mayor to sign the permit was reviewed and favorably endorsed by the committees on public works and on laws and rules, chaired by Councilors Al Legaspi Sr. and Edgar S. Cabanlas, respectively. (SPE/SP)
