To enhance fire safety and emergency response services, the City Council headed by Vice Mayor Bebot Rodriguez enacted an ordinance authorizing City Mayor Rolando A. Uy to enter into and sign the deed of usufruct agreement with Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), to utilize a city-owned property for 25 years as the site for proposed upgrading of the Macabalan Fire Station.

The proposed upgrade include the addition of a mezzanine and a covered roof deck, which are essential to accommodate the growing demands of fire response and community safety.

In his letter to the City Council, Mayor Uy emphasized the importance of the initiative, citing that he acknowledges the necessity to prevent fire hazard.

“The upgrading of the Macabalan Fire Station is not just about improving our facilities; it’s about ensuring the safety of our citizens. By providing our firefighters with better resources and a more functional space, we are investing in the well-being of our entire community,” Uy said. (JBD/SP)
