City Council approves Brgy Kauswagan 2026 Budget

IN its 22^nd Regular Session presided over by Vice Mayor Bebot Rodriguez, the City Council unanimously approved the annual budget of Barangay Kauswagan for 2026, with a total estimated income of ₱65,099,803.

Of the total amount, ₱23,249,392.00 was allocated for personal services of barangay officials and staff, covering honoraria, bonuses, incentives, cash gifts, and terminal leave benefits.

Meanwhile, ₱19,959,079.00 was set aside for maintenance and other operating expenses, which include office supplies and materials, support for various barangay programs and activities, assistance to community sectors, as well as repair and maintenance of barangay facilities.

The capital outlay, amounting to ₱1,278,000.00, will be used for the purchase of one unit Bajaj motorcycle, four units of motorcycles, and for canal declogging projects.

For non-office expenditures, the barangay appropriated ₱3,254,990.00 for its calamity fund, ₱6,509,980.00 for the Sangguniang Kabataan budget, and ₱10,848,362.00 for its 20 percent development fund.

The legislation was reviewed and sponsored by the committee on barangay affairs chaired by Councilor Marlo Tabac and the committee on laws and rules chaired by Councilor Edgar Cabanlas. (SPE/SP)
